Prof. CAO Jian-nong Prof. Cao is currently a chair professor and head of the Department of Computing at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hung Hom, Hong Kong. He is also the director of the Internet and Mobile Computing Lab in the department. His research interests include parallel and distributed computing, wireless sensor networks, mobile and pervasive computing, covering protocols and algorithms, system platforms, and real-world applications in Internet of Things, mobile cloud and big data analytics. He has co-authored 4 books, co-edited 9 books, and published over 300 papers in major international journals and conference proceedings. He has directed and participated in numerous research and development projects and, obtained over HK$25 million grants from government funding agencies and industries including IBM, Microsoft, and Huawei. Prof. Cao has won numerous prizes and awards, and is very active in professional activities locally and internationally. He is a senior member of China Computer Federation, a senior member of IEEE, and a member of ACM. He is the Chair of the Technical Committee on Distributed Computing of IEEE Computer Society. Dr. Cao has served as an associate editor and a member of the editorial boards of many international journals and as a chair and member of organizing / program committees for many international conferences. |
