Ms. Ellen TONG
Senior Health Informatician, Hospital Authority

Ellen holds the qualification of Registered Nurse of Hong Kong and obtained the Bachelor Degree of Health Science in Nursing in Australia, also holds a Master degree of Science in Health Service Management. She had been practicing in both public and private hospital and also working in the healthcare commercial field for about 7 years before joining HAIT in 1996.

During the past 17 years in HAIT, Ellen has been managing various clinical IT projects. She led a team for supporting the development the implementation of Clinical Management System in HA hospitals and clinics. Ellen has extensive experience in health information system design and development; clinical process redesign, system usability and implementation.

Since 2009, Ellen has been working closely with the government and other healthcare stakeholders and taking up the role in the planning of user engagement strategy, management of training plan and advising on the clinical design for the development and implementation of the territory wide Electronic Health Record and also other eHR applications for supporting future eHR sharing.
