I was highly impressed, as I am sure you will be when you read the souvenir pages, by the considerable diversity shown by this year's winning eBusiness IT applications and products.

They are being successfully deployed across a wide range of environments ranging from major international ports, homes for the elderly, construction sites, a website for volunteers, through to retail stores and Mainland apparel factories. While all are different, they are in fact linked by a common thread - they display a rich understanding of their chosen domains; have a clear focus on essential needs and problems; and embody highly innovative solutions that deliver significant value. Hong Kong can be justly proud of the impact that these applications and products are having locally and internationally.

I congratulate the winners, and thank them for choosing the Hong Kong ICT Awards to promote their work. I am sure that they would like to join me in thanking the judges and assessors for their dedication and their valuable comments.
