Laurence has been working in the fields of information technology, finance and telecommunications for over 30 years with broad experience in sales, marketing, product and system development as well as general business management in local and global organizations.

He has worked for over 22 years with the largest telecommunication company in Hong Kong and has led and participated in many large scale projects involving business process re-engineering and automation in the areas of customer record management, supplies management, customer orders, billing and services management.

Laurence has also been serving in senior IT management positions for 12 years for one of the major international banks in Europe and he has been one of their key members of the project steering committee in Asia for the development, implementation and support of a portfolio of over 30 banking applications for their use in 15 Asian countries.

He has also served as Project Director and General Manager for a couple of local enterprises in Hong Kong with extended offices in mainland China.

Laurence was an elected committee member of the Hong Kong Computer Society (1982 to 1984). He is a member of the HK General Chamber of Commerce (since 2001) and has been a full member of the Hong Kong Management Association and an ordinary member of the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers. He is the President of the Rotary Club of Hong Kong Island East in 2007-2008.

Laurence Chan holds two diplomas in management subjects (in business management and in supplies management) obtained in the Hong Kong Polytechnic, a diploma in Purchasing & Supplies obtained from the United Kingdom and a MBA degree in marketing granted by the University of East Asia (now called University of Macau).
