The
Library RFID Automation System (Libra™)
 LIBRA™
adopts an open platform standard and combines Web
based applications and RFID technology to create an
efficient and seamless selfservice library environment
allowing the real time updating of circulation data.
It also works in offline mode if the library management
system is down.
The hardware and software suite includes RFID tags
for the stock, RFID gates, check in/out stations,
a front desk section, and a sorting station, among
many other elements. The installation in The City
University of Hong Kong integrates student ID cards
to keep track of CDs on loan and enable students to
carry out semi-automated self-service loans and returns.
