To facilitate the busy lives of city dwellers,many winning
products included auxiliary functions like recording,
reminding and scheduling, for example, PocketDoc, the
1st runner-up winner of Concept – Junior Group; Pro-
Active!, 1st runner-up winner of Concept –Senior Group;
and Fat Guy Attack, 2nd runner-up of Practical Group. A
team member from Po Leung Kuk Choi Kai Yau School,
the maker of PocketDoc said, “There is a lack of apps
in the market which can improve the experience of
receiving medical attention. The most valuable function
of our work is to find the suitable doctor and register for
you, and to remind you the time of taking medication.”
The event was attended by Hon. Charles Mok, JP,
Legislative Council member (ITFC), Mr Jason Tung,
Chairperson of HKCS Youth Club, Dr. Fowie Ng, Head of
Health&Applied Sciences Division,School of Continuing
and Professional Studies of the Chinese University
of Hong Kong and Ms. Candice Siu, President of Hong
Kong Joint School Electronics and Computer Society,
who discussed with the students on IT development.
Ms. Siu said, “This was an excellent opportunity for the
students to explore their potentials. I am grateful to the
organiser and other participating parties for their co-
operation and support.” Mr Ng also said, “IT industry has
to bear social responsibilities now. Just like the theme of
this event, the industry has to promote to the public how
to healthily utilise information technology.” The guests
highly appreciate the students’ innovation, and they
encourage the students to make full use of their creative
minds to contribute to the society. Hon. Mok said to the
students, “Hong Kong needs IT talents. I hope you may
maintain your enthusiasm and interest towards IT, and
will consider start a career in the trade.” Mr Tung also
said, “HKCS will organise different kinds of activities for
youngsters, to support and encourage young people to
express creativity.” Lastly, after all winning parties had
demonstrated their products, the organiser specially
made arrangement for the winning parties of the
Practical Group to demonstrate to the guests how to
use the apps, so as to let the participants know more
about their work. The judges for the competition were
composed by the representatives of the three organisers,
Mr. Herman Lam of Hong Kong Cyberport Management
Company Limited, and also Mr. Jason Chiu, founder and
CEO of Cherrypicks. All judges found that the standards
of the competitors of this year were very high and close
the one another.
為配合都市人繁忙的生活,不少得獎作品同時加入了
記錄、提醒及計劃等輔助功能,方便用家使用,如概
念組-初級組亞軍作品「PocketDoc」、概念組-高
級組亞軍作品「Pro-Active!」及實踐組季軍作品「Fat
Guy Attack」等等。創作PocketDoc的保良局蔡繼有學
校的隊員認為:「應用程式市場缺少能改善人們看醫
生的經歷的部分,於是我們的作品最有價值的功能是
為你找適合的醫生、為你輪候及提醒你服藥。」
活動邀得立法會議員(資訊及科技界)莫乃光太平紳
士、香港電腦學會青年會主席董勇先生、香港中文大
學專業進修學院醫療保健及應用科學學部總監伍時豐
博士及香港聯校電子及電腦學會主席蕭蘊䮎女士出
席,與同學就資訊科技的發展作出交流分享。蕭女士
表示:「是次活動是讓同學發揮潛能的好機會,十分
感謝大會及其他相關單位對是次活動之配合及支持。
」伍博士亦指出:「資訊科技現時亦須肩負起社會責
任,就如是次活動主題,業界有需要向大眾推廣如何
健康地使用資訊科技。」嘉賓對於同學的創作表示欣
賞,亦鼓勵更多年青人發揮其豐富的創作力,為社會
作出貢獻。莫議員鼓勵同學:「香港需要資訊科技人
才,希望同學保持對資訊科技的熱誠及興趣,並考慮
將來投身此行業。」董先生亦指出:「香港電腦學會
會舉辦各類青少年活動,以支持及鼓勵年青人發揮創
意。」最後,各得獎單位在展示其作品後,大會還特
意安排實踐組得獎單位向嘉賓作出應用程式的使用示
範,令在場人士對得獎作品有更具體的認識。比賽評
判除了三方主辦單位代表外,更邀得香港數碼港管理
有限公司林向陽先生及創奇思(Cherrypicks)創辦人
兼行政總裁趙子翹先生擔任。各評判均覺得今年的參
賽作品水準十分高,而作品之間差距亦十分接近。
