Hong Kong Institute for IT Professional Certification (HKITPC)

The Hong Kong Institute for IT Professional Certification
(HKITPC) is a non-profit organisation established in
2007 with the assistance of the government. HKITPC
aims to recognise the qualifications of IT professionals
by launching a series of credentials and therefore
helping foster the development of the IT industry. CPIT
is a certification system that assesses and certifies IT
professionals based on knowledge, skills, ability and
proven work experience.
Information technology is a key element leading to
better business and organisational development, thus
enhancing the need for IT professionals to pursue
self-excellence in order to stay competitive in the
field. Certified Professional of IT (CPIT) Credentials
is one of the professional certifications in IT industry,
providing employers with a reference to assist them
during recruitment processes while encouraging IT
professionals to pursue self-improvement.
In 2014, two additional Recognition-Based Certifications
were added to the CPIT credentials as: Project Manager
(PM) and Systems Operation Officer (SOO).
In order to encourage IT professionals to enter into
CPIT program, Hong Kong Institute for IT Professional
Certification and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
(PolyU) reached an Agreement to recognise eligible
PolyU graduates as Exempted Graduates, offering them
an exemption of examination and examination fee for
CPIT (APM) and CPIT (BA).

HKITPC）成立於2007年，在政府的資助下以非牟
利的形式獨立運作。香港資訊科技專業認證局頒佈
一系列專業認證證書，確立資訊科技界人才之專業
資格，從而為業界提供優質勞動力，推動業界之發
展。CPIT是一套評估系統，對業內人士作出知識、
技能、能力及工作經驗四方面的評估，從而確立達
標人士的專業資格。
資訊科技有助推動企業發展，故業界對於從業員質
素的要求日益提高，以維持發展潛力。員工須時
刻裝備自己，保持競爭力，才得以生存。Certified
Professional of IT（簡稱CPIT）證書為業內一專業
資格證明，不但為僱主提供招聘參考指標，同時鼓
勵從業員提升自我水平。根據香港電腦學會於2014
年1月進行的一項問卷調查，CPIT證書在業內受到
廣泛的認同，成為評估資訊科技從業員專業水平的
重要指標。
CPIT專業認證計劃於2014年新增以「認可」為本
的專業認證，當中包括「項目經理」及「系統操作
主任」兩項認證。
為鼓勵業內人士參與CP I T專業認證計劃，香港資
訊科技專業認證局與香港理工大學簽署了合作同意
書，承認合資格的香港理工大學畢業生為「獲豁免
學生」，免除他們考取「副項目經理」及「商業系
統分析師」專業認證時所需的考試及考試費用。
