The Hong Kong International Computer Conference

2014 (HKICC 2014), organised by the Hong Kong

Computer Society (HKCS) for 37 years in a row, took place

on October 30 and 31 at the Hong Kong Convention

and Exhibition Centre. Information Communication &

Technology (ICT) executives and experts locally and

from overseas delivered insightful presentations on a

range of contemporary topics around the theme “Smart

City–Let IT Go”, while participants also benefited greatly

from the lively panel discussions as well.

Mr. Michael Leung, President of Hong Kong Computer

Society, pointed out that “over the past decades, ICT has

become perhaps the most instrumental change agents

of our daily lives, and has brought modern lifestyles to

a lot of people in the world.” For most urban dwellers,

ICT has facilitated tremendous progress to their

communities, particularly in government, healthcare,

education, business and entertainment space.

The 2-day HKICC featured more than 40 local and

international speakers, and addressed nine major areas

under the theme “Smart City”:

會議」已於10月30日至31日假香港會議展覽中心完滿

結束。來自世界各地的資訊科技專才就多個資訊科技

議題作出深入的剖析。透過是次會議,來賓得以了解

現今資訊及通訊科技與人類社會之間的密切關係。本

年度會議的主題「智能城市-Let IT go!」充分顯示資訊

科技現已成為與日常生活不可分割的一部分。

香港電腦學會會長梁建文先生表示:「資訊科技在過

去數十年間為世界帶來巨大而關鍵的變化,超過一半

的世界人口因而步入了現代生活方式,享受伴隨資訊

科技而來的各種好處。」踏入智能時代,城市人接觸

到很多嶄新概念,如電子健康、電子政府、教育、商

業和娛樂空間等。

一連兩日的香港國際電腦會議專程邀請了逾四十名來

自各地不同資訊科技範疇的專家出席討論環節,與來

賓交流分享9個與生活息息相關的主題:
