The Imitation Game was inspired by the biography Alan
Turing: The Enigma, which based on the twisty life of
the ingenious mathematician and father of Computer
Science Alan Turing, and it revealed the secret of the
Second War World victory that had been kept by the
British government for 50 years. Dedicated in the IT
profession and the development of the industry in Hong
Kong, HKCS held in high regard this legendary movie of
Turing. Mr. Michael Leung, Chairman of HKCS said, “The
movie depicted the life of the British mathematician
Alan Turing, who was dubbed the ‘Father of Computer
Science’. It told the course in which Turing collaborated
with his colleagues during the Second World War in
order to crack the most sophisticated intelligence
system of Germany, the Enigma. After the war, Turing
put forward numerous scientific theories, and the Turing
Machine was his hypothesis of artificial intelligence,
which was subsequently regarded by the scientific field
as the prototype of modern computer. HKCS specially
recommend this movie, with a view to let everybody
know the life of Turing, and to pay tribute to this
great contributor.” The renowned guests attended the
premiere were full of praise for the movie. They were
impressed by the brilliant acting and breath-taking
storyline, and were deeply touched by the true story of
Turing. They realised that Turing was a great achiever
and contributor, who should be been more respected by
the world.
Brief plot of the movie:
The Imitation Game depicts the legendary life of Alan Turing, father of
Computer Science, casted by Benedict Cumberbatch, leading actor of the
Elementary. During the Second War World, Cambridge mathematician
Turing was covertly appointed by the British army to decrypt the
proclaimed most sophisticated intelligence system invented by Nazi
Germany – Enigma. The eccentric Turing buried his head into the
research to invent an automated decipher machine, but he encountered
all sorts of setbacks. Fortunately, with the encouragement of a new
team member (Keira Knightley), Turing blended into his colleagues
and collaboratively made the machine to decrypt the secret of the
enemy. That led to the conclusion of the Second War World and saved
14 million from the wrath of ammunition, and marked the birth of the
first computer in the world. Years after the war, however, this decryption
expert shrouded in mystery was convicted by the British government
for homosexuality.

展的香港電腦學會，非常推崇這部關於艾倫圖靈的
傳奇電影，香港電腦學會會長梁建文表示：「電影
記載被喻為『電腦之父』的英國數學家艾倫圖靈
的事蹟，內容講述圖靈在二次大戰中與同僚合力研
究，破解德軍號稱最精密的情報系統Enigma。大戰
後，圖靈提出許多科學理論，『圖靈機』（Turing
Machine）就是他對人工智慧的設想，亦早已被後
來科學界認定為現代電腦的原型。香港電腦學會
特意推介這部電影，希望大家了解圖靈的事蹟，向
這位作出偉大貢獻的巨擘致敬。」出席首映禮的名
人嘉賓都對電影讚不絕口，驚嘆片中主角的演出精
湛、劇情緊湊圓融，更被艾倫圖靈這位真實人物的
故事所深深感動，亦感慨圖靈成就非凡，貢獻宏
大，實在應當更受世人懷念尊敬。
電影簡介：
解碼遊戲》由《新福爾摩斯》英國男神班尼狄甘巴貝治（Benedict
Cumberbatch）演活「電腦之父」艾倫圖靈的傳奇一生。二戰期
間，劍橋天才數學家圖靈（班尼狄甘巴貝治飾）獲英軍秘密任
命，試圖破解由納粹德國獨創，號稱世上最精密的情報系統─
「Enigma」密碼機。性格孤僻的他終日埋首研究，只望盡快發明
自動解碼儀器，過程遭遇重重挫折，幸好在聰敏漂亮的新成員（
姬拉麗莉飾）的鼓勵下，圖靈主動打破和同僚的隔閡，最終合力
研發出破譯敵方機密的裝置，促成二次大戰結束，超過1400萬人
得以避開戰火，而世上首台電腦亦宣告在那刻誕生。然而這位解
密專家，背後隱藏著不容於世的秘密，戰後多年，他竟被揭發為
同性戀者而遭英國政府入罪…
