Hong Kong is one of the major financial hubs in the
world. In the digital era, all stakeholders in the world are
all being disrupted by innovative financial technologies
(FinTech) and their business models, and Hong Kong
has no exception. New FinTech startups, such as,
Lending Club, Kickstarter, Square, Kreditech, Zopa, Alipay,
renrendai and so on, are getting great attention from
not just VCs but also prestigious financial companies
and their customers.
To stay competitive in the financial market, Hong Kong
needs to not just use the right FinTech but also lead
innovations in this area for sustainable growth. Hong
Kong Computer Society (HKCS) had launched a new
Financial Technologies Special Interest Group (FTSIG)
in January 2015 to help Hong Kong leverage FinTech to
compete and sustain as one of the top financial hubs in
the world.
The Launch of Hong Kong Computer Society Financial
Technologies Special Interest Group (FTSIG) was held on
Jan. 29, 2015 in Hong Kong Cyberport. Senior executives
from Hong Kong Computer Society, Hong Kong
Cyberport, Hong Kong Institute of Bankers and FinTech
startups were there to witness this key milestone for
Hong Kong FinTech ecosystem.
香港是全球主要的金融中心之一。於數碼年代中，
全球所有持份者皆受到創新科技和商業模式帶來的
沖擊，香港亦不例外。新創的金融科技企業，例如
Lending Club、Kickstarter、Square、Kreditech、Zopa
、Alipay和renrendai等不僅得到風險資本的關注，也受
到卓越的金融公司及其客戶的注視。
為了在金融市場上保持競爭力，香港不僅須應用合適
的金融科技，更要領導區內作出創新，維持可持續發
展。香港電腦學會於2015年1月成立新的金融科技專
題組，幫助香港善用金融科技，以加強競爭力，維持
全球頂尖金融中心的地位。
