Moving Forward
Moving forward, HKCS will continue to put its strategic
focus on expanding and deepening our relationships
with the government and business sectors, so that we
can continue to raise the profile of Hong Kong’s ICT
industry across different disciplines and regions.
More recently, our new FinTech SIG and the Hong Kong
Institute of Bankers (HKIB) are working towards a
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on
professional development and other initiatives, sharing
a common goal to raise the IT savviness amongst Hong
Kong’s banking and other professionals. We are excited
at the implications that this alliance would have on
the position of Hong Kong as an international financial
center, including the new industry developments and
talents that would benefit both the banking and ICT
industries.
At the same time, we are laying down an action plan
to develop our CIO Board into a more authoritative
and respected think tank with wider repercussions on
the technology and business communities. This will
be achieved through expanding our membership into
more diverse industry sectors, so that we can extend
the breadth and scope of our high-level discussions
and engage in a more dynamic dialogue with a broader
business community. Ultimately, we aim to position the
CIO Board as the premier leadership voice to spearhead
discussions that have bearing on the development of
the IT industry as a whole.
