Our ever-popular members-only activities, like the
recent site visits to Cathay Pacific Cargo Terminal and
HACTL on the airport side of town, were always very
well received. Regular networking events with different
strategic partners, like the annual HKCS Gala Dinner,
Spring Dinner and quarterly cocktail parties, also
generated new professional contacts for our members.
Industry Relations and Community
Engagement
The Society continued to be actively involved in a wide
range of professional and societal activities, such as
awards and forums, to enhance professional status and
recognition of ICT practitioners, as well as to sustain
developments of the industry and our community.
HKCS’ annual flagship event, the Hong Kong
International Computer Conference (HKICC) cum Gala
Dinner, has long been hailed as the premier industry
platform for hundreds of ICT professionals, business
and government leaders locally and from overseas
to explore the opportunities that ICT has to offer in
this fast changing digital era. Quite aptly, HKICC 2014
featured “Smart City - Let IT go!” as its central theme.
With great efforts from the Program Committee and
Organising Committee, it had set new records in terms
of number of participants, quality of speakers including
the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development
of the HKSAR Government, Mr Gregory So, GBS, JP, the
pilot use of an interactive Q&A and rating mobile app
sponsored by Microsoft, and, thanks to our partners and
sponsors, the event also exceeded our target financially
as well!
長久以來廣受歡迎而只招待會員的實地視察活動一
直備受好評，例如最近我們到訪了機場地區的國泰
航空貨運站和香港空運貨站有限公司。定期的聯誼
活動如一年一度的學會週年晚宴、春節晚會和季度
的雞尾酒會為會員提供了新的專業聯繫網絡。
業界關係和社會參與
學會繼續積極參與多方面的專業和社會活動，例如
獎項和論壇等，以增強資訊及通訊科技從業人員的
專業地位和認受性，並維持業內和社會整體的發
展。
學會的年度旗艦活動──「香港國際電腦會議」，
一直被譽為卓越的業界平台，讓數以百計來自本地
及海外的資訊及通訊科技專才和商業界及政府領導
可探討資訊及通訊科技能為瞬息萬變的數碼年代帶
來甚麼機遇。香港國際電腦會議適時地以「智能城
市──Let IT go!」為主題，在程序委員會和籌委會
的努力下，創下了參與者人數紀錄新高，包括邀請
了傑出的講者如商務及經濟發展局局長蘇錦樑先生,
GBS, JP、試用由微軟贊助的互動問答環節和評分
流動應用程式。有賴於合作夥伴和贊助商，該活動
更超出了我們訂下的財政目標。
