Niklaus Wirth

Membership Growth

Professional development are meant for our members.

We continuously strive to recruit new members in

each of the five target segments – youths, females,

professionals, entrepreneurs and corporates. Our

mentorship and internship programs, as well as career

and startup talks provided secondary and university

student guidance and roadmap for their ventures in

the ICT industry. Worth mentioning here is the first-ever

all-women group in the ICT industry – the “FACE” Club,

which was inaugurated in March 2015, with the vision

of increasing both the number and impact of females

in the ICT workforce. We must also mention the new

Innovation and Entrepreneurship Club, which brought

together like-minded members to break new frontiers.

Our highly regarded CIO Board has since captured

the attention of many other organisations as well as

within the vendor circle. We are exploring new avenues

of cooperation with them, in order to enhance the its

strategic leadership values to the business community.

We have been in close liaison with the respective

entities in Singapore and Taiwan to build new inroads

for collaboration between the CIOs of these cities.

As a member-centric organisation, HKCS places

top priority on engaging members and providing

them with opportunities to develop professionally.

A much coveted program in this regard has been the

distinguished speaker luncheon series, where members

get to meet, among others, the founder and ex-CEO

of Sun Microsystems, Mr Scott McNealy, and the

inventor of Pascal, Professor Niklaus Wirth. Moreover,

to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the death of

Alan Turing, a highly successful gala premiere of his

biographical movie, ‘The Imitation Game’, was held to

pay homage to his life’s struggles and achievements.
