Professional Development
Given the breakneck speed that ICT is advancing today,
a high-quality, well-structured training program and
accreditation framework are critical for keeping Hong
Kong ICT professionals competitive internationally.
We continued to promote a rigorous, all-rounded
Continuous Professional Development Program, and
act as a gatekeeper to uphold the standards through
the Certified Professional of IT (CPIT) scheme. With
full support from HKCS, the Hong Kong Institute for
IT Professional Certification (HKITPC) extended its
coverage to two new recognition-based disciplines,
i.e. CPIT Project Manager and CPIT System Operations
Officer, two of the more important aspects of our
practice.
With the advent of disruptive technologies such as
social media, mobility, cloud and big data, enterprises
and governments the world over are embracing the
notion of Smart Cities, in order to attaining sustainable
urban development and improving the quality of life
for their citizens. In November HKCS organised a Smart
City Study Tour to Wuxi and Suzhou, two of the modern
metropolises in China. This 4-day visit deepened the
participants’ understanding of how new technologies,
particularly Internet of Things (IoT), can change the
ways we live, work and interact. We will continue to
facilitate more exchanges with our counterparts locally
and abroad.
推行「Certified Professional of IT」(CPIT),扮
兩個以認證為本的新範疇,即CPIT(項目經理)和
CPIT(系統操作主任),是實務操作中兩個較重要
