E-services - The Ecology of Next Chapter of the Internet

The Internet is rapidly evolving from the current notion of "Do-it-yourself" to the new "Do-it-for-me" concept. With the continuous improvement of network and wireless technologies as well as the penetration of computer technology into the daily lives, the world is moving towards a direction of "Pervasive Computing".

Customers are looking for full range of services over the Internet from anywhere and at anytime. At the same time, businesses would like to plan their strategies by focusing on their core competencies and customer relationship.

Under these circumstances, there will be a new way of offering complete personalized "e-services" via the Net. This paper will discuss the new business model over the Internet and how companies should position themselves to win in the next chapter of the Internet.
