Mr Graham Brant General Manager Microsoft Hong Kong Ltd As general manager of Microsoft Hong Kong, Graham is responsible for the overall management of the Hong Kong operation, including sales, marketing, education services and customer support in the territory, overseeing more than 100 employees and channel partnerships with over 1,000 dealers. He has over 19 years experience of marketing, selling and managing the implementation of projects in the IT industry, mainly gained in an international environment. Prior to taking up his present position in May 1999, Graham led the Strategic Marketing group for Microsoft in Asia, focusing on specific strategic initiatives such as the development and rollout of the next generation Internet-based enterprise sales and marketing strategy for the company (DNS - digital nervous system). Previously, Graham established and led the Microsoft Consulting Services and Solution Developer Business groups in Asia. In addition, he set up the Microsoft Consulting Services division in Hong Kong, providing IT consulting support to major local enterprise customers including Cable & Wireless HKT, The Hong Kong and China Gas Co Ltd and Hong Kong Jockey Club. Before coming to Asia in 1994, Graham managed the Microsoft Consulting Services Finance Sector business in the UK, which was responsible for developing some of the world's largest Finance Sector solutions based on Microsoft Windows NT technology during the early establishing years of this technology. Prior to joining Microsoft, Graham was systems director with Linx NMS Limited in the UK, where he designed and managed the development of an integrated Network and IT Service Management applications suite based around a distributed Oracle database. He also represented over 50 organizations within the AIMS (action for the integration of management systems) working group, which is associated with the OSI Network Management Forum in defining and agreeing on practical working management standards at the applications level. His consultancy experience was well founded at an early stage, having spent three years in a senior role with PA Computers and Telecommunications. Graham holds a BSc Honours degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Bath University.
