Mr Peter Yan

Chief Operations Officer

Tradelink Electronic Commerce Limited

As a member of Tradelink's senior management team since early 1993, and Chief Operations Officer since January 1997, Peter Yan has played a leading role in managing the planning, development and implementation of Tradelink's community electronic commerce services platform, which has been designed to provide a secure EDI interface between Hong Kong's import/export trading community and Government. His current position includes overall responsibility for all aspects of the company's commercial and IT operations, including technical development and production support, marketing and sales, customer service, and new business and product development. In addition, he is involved in a number of infrastructure development projects including a Secure Internet Gateway to help smaller traders access Tradelink's service.

A business administration graduate from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Peter has also completed a Global Leadership programme from the Harvard Business School. He started his career in 1985 as a consultant with Arthur Andersen & Company (now Andersen Consulting), specialising in financial and management information systems, and managing major consultancy projects for such companies as OOCL, HACTL, Seiko Epson Corporation; Dickson Concepts; County NatWest Securities; and ITT Sheraton.

In 1990 Peter moved to Porro Technologies, then just setting up as a PC manufacturer and distributor, to head the company's general management, marketing and business development operations. As well as establishing both direct and indirect marketing channels for the company, he was responsible for securing and managing several major supply and integration contracts for Government and public sector organisations.
